The plain-speech test
Say it like
a person would.
Paste your website copy, an email or a post. The red pen strikes the filler, the words that sound like a machine wrote them, the sentences that run long and the dashes, then hands you a plainer version. It runs in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere.
The read
A plainer version
A first pass by rules, not a writer. It cuts and swaps words; read it aloud before you use it.
What it reads for
- Machine wordsElevate, seamless, unlock, delve, robust, tailored, journey and the rest. They read as if no one in particular wrote them.
- FillerVery, really, just, truly, in order to, due to the fact that. Cut them and nothing is lost.
- Long sentencesPast about 25 words, people stop following. Two short ones beat one long one.
- Dashes and stacked exclamation marksA full stop or a comma does the job, and sounds calmer.
Every world starts
with a Verdict.
The test reads one page. A Build writes your whole world in one voice: site, signs, emails and replies.
You’ll speak with Sergio, not a salesperson.
