The cartographer

Put yourself
on the map.

Open your Google Business Profile next to this page and tick what’s true. Every tick lights a road on the map. You get a score out of 100 and the fixes in the order that matter most. It runs in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere.

    How Google decides

    • RelevanceHow well your profile matches what someone searched. Categories, services and a full description do the work here.
    • DistanceHow far you are from the person searching. You can’t change it, so the other two matter more.
    • ProminenceHow well known you are: reviews, replies, photos and the rest of the web talking about you.

Google names these three in its own help pages. A full profile helps, but nobody can promise a ranking, and this check isn’t a guarantee.

How we map a business: the Map layer

    Every world starts
    with a Verdict.

The cartographer checks one profile. A Build sets up the whole map: profile, pages, reviews and the systems that keep them fresh.
